When I picked up this fairly modern black and white painted metal lampshade and thought it had a vintage industrial look about it. I made up a gooseneck style floor stand from reclaimed timber and industrial conduit and wired it up with new electrical parts; the result is an impressive period look floor lamp with presence.

Full description
A slender and graceful gooseneck floor lamp made from industrial conduit mounted on a reclaimed wood base and fitted with a modern, vintage look black and white metal shade. It casts light downwards but very little upwards, making for atmospheric lighting of the sort often seen in old films.
The black outer/white inner metal shade is used, with one or two scuffs, but in overall good condition and the electrical components are all brand new. I have fitted a vintage look 3.4w ES LED bulb (included) which provides a good light but maintains the period look. The lamp is switched by a toggle switch mounted in a conduit box on the stand and there is approx. 6 feet (1.8m) of vintage look black braided flex fitted with a 3-amp fused black UK plug.
