Upcycled/repurposed steampunk and industrial themed lighting. All with economical mains voltage LED lamps to help with your bill and save the planet!
I welcome custom orders and commissions so if you have something you would like making, repurposing or restoring, get in touch and let’s talk about what we could achieve.
I have made several table lamps from vintage aluminium electric drills which polish up beautifully and have gone down well with customers. This one is set apart by the rare angled output gearbox for getting into restricted spaces.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
A vintage electric drill made in the 1950s or early 1960s by Wolf Electric Tools Ltd, of Hangar Lane, London, reborn as a striking mains voltage table lamp. Marketed as an industrial production drill this one has the add-on 90-degree output gearbox and had a quarter inch (6mm) chuck fitted.
The cast aluminium body has had the paint, motor, windings and gears removed and the chuck replaced with a nickel-plated ES lampholder. It has been given a polish to make it shine, though it still bears many dings and scratches from a long working life. I have retained the original double-pole trigger operated switch for an authentic look and feel, having first thoroughly checked and tested it for both function and safety.
The drill stands on an attractive and unusual wooden angled base made it from offcuts of studwork timber, stained and French polished it to give a shine. 2 metres of black fabric braided flex fitted with a correctly fused British standard plug complete the lamp.
