The wings of this Nature Sprite have been made from impressing the leaves from the Common Lime tree, and pine fronds from my garden, when the clay is still wet.
Inspired by nature, Folklore and an obsession with Flower Fairies as a child, these small sculptural Sprited come ready to hang, bringing a bit of interest to a small corner of the garden on an ivy covered wall, or nestled into a bush, but would be equally happy in an indoors setting beside a grouping of House plants.
Nice on their own or as a group, bringing a bit of the outdoors, indoors.
Fully signed on the reverse.

Full description
This ceramic Sprite has been created from Stoneware clay, using found leaves from the Common Lime tree that grows locally., to create the wings.
After an initial firing, the ceramic piece has been stained with various metallic oxides and a clear Stoneare glaze, enhancing the fine lines and details from the imprinted plant materials.
This miniature sculptural Sprite is then placed back in the kiln for a second firing to a very high temperature, making this Wall Art frost proof, so suitable for an outdoor setting.
Can be hung by threading a length of garden wire through the clay bead attached to the reverse as shown in one of the images.
This miniature Nature Sprite measures 11 cm at it's widest point, 9 cm high and an approx depth of 5 cm inclusive of the hanging bead on the reverse.
