After using a large holesaw to cut a circular base for another lamp, I noticed the remaining timber had an interesting form – about the size of a globe bulb. I did some experimenting with size and fit and this lamp is the end result.

Full description
An unusually shaped wooden table lamp made from offcuts of 8 x 2 building timber, fitted with all new electrical parts. Hand crafted in my workshop to a geometric shape with the Edison screw fitting lampholder concealed within the wood and the bulb sitting centrally in a circular aperture cut in the timber. I have selected the supplied 4w ES LED, spiral filament, globe type bulb to enhance the overall shape and look of the lamp and to minimise glare.
The pine wood has been cut to an interesting shape, lightly sanded to remove rough edges and splinters and given a coat of woodstain to darken it before several coats of French polish to give it a pleasing, aged look and sheen. It has felt pads on the base to protect your furniture.
