This work was inspired by an evening walk alongside the sun-ripened crop fields near my home.

Full description
"Sun-Ripened Crops" is a unique textile artwork featuring hand embroidery. It has a warm colour palette and the gentle sheen of the embroidery threads reflects the gentle post-harvest light. It is a partner work to "Tell it to the Bees", also listed here in my shop.
To create this work, I have gathered snippets from my store of treasured fabrics and used Kantha-style stitches to give the finished piece the comforting texture of a tiny quilt.
This gentle picture is rich and warm, inviting you to remember the summer sun all year round - bring a piece of the outside in! A framed work, it is ready for you to display or gift to a loved one.
Your work is mounted and presented in white 6" square, premium glazed box frame - this gives the art's texture room to bloom. The frame is suitable for wall or desk display.
