I have wanted to make a bag out of a piece of tapestry for years and when this piece came along I knew my wait was over. It’s a real shame I don’t know who made this or why it ended up in a charity shop but now it has a whole new life.

Full description
This large tote bag was created from a piece of tapestry I found in a charity shop. The summer garden scene compromising of two ladies filling baskets with cut flowers is worked in a wool yarn using straight stitch in varying lengths and French knots.
The front bag border is made from a linen type fabric in a light grey and the back of the bag is made of the same fabric with a white machine embroidery pattern running down the centre.
The webbing straps in a deep shade of green have a white line running down both edges and the cotton lining has a design of foxgloves and other flowers in shades of pink with green leaves and stems. Fleece interfacing gives the bag structure.
