This piece is part of some work I did a while ago using polymer clay to simulate ivory. I was playing with a vaguely heraldic design on this one, could be the family crest of some seafaring family perhaps. I have a few odd small pendants knocking around and this one seemed to fit at the bottom edge of this pendant. I used to have a good source of cheap silver chains on my local antique market but the prices have gone up a bit recently. Some of the pendants come from there, some are from bundles of broken jewellery or odd earrings.

Full description
A large rectangular pendant made from polymer clay to look like aged ivory, The pendant has an incised pattern with two seahorses facing each other, below is a stylised star and above is a heart on a shield, between them is a plaque with patterns of hearts on it, the rest of the pendant is filled with random patterns. After firing the pendant has a brown acrylic paint applied which is then wiped back so it stays only in the incised pattern.
There are two loops of silver wire fixed into either side of the pendant and fine, red and gold organza ribbon is tied through these to create the necklace, the ends of the ribbon are finished with two tiny white seed beads either side of a vintage bone bead. In the centre of the lower edge is another loop of silver wire with a small triangular, sterling silver, celtic knot pendant hung from it, this pendant is recycled, it was either an odd earring or hung on a second hand chain I bought for another piece.
Measuring approximately 6cm long and 5 wide this is a relatively large pendant, it is fastened by tying the ribbon, so can be worn any length you like within the limits of the ribbon.
It could even just be hung as a decoration.
