Part of a range of items I made a while ago using polymer clay to simulate ivory or bone. I was influenced by jewellery from Africa and North America and also finds from prehistoric times, I wanted it to look as if it might have been found somewhere, or dug up.
This is a fun technique involving putting the clay through a roller, I use a cheap pasta machine, until it forms tiny fine layers.

Full description
This little arrowhead pendant is made using layers of polymer clay to simulate bone or ivory. The arrow head has incised patterns on it which were stained by painting brown acrylic paint onto the surface and then wiping back, to leave just the incisions coloured.
The pendant has two small holes in the top to take a hemp cord, the cord is held tight by a square bead of the same polymer clay with simple lines incised and a star on the top.
The fastener for this pendant is made by fixing a vintage brass bead at one end and making a loop at the other, the two ends are held in place by a coil of copper wire which is crimped onto the cord.
The arrowhead measures approximately 2.5cm/1" long, the cord is approximately 42cm/16"
