This piece was a demonstration for a workshop, so I didn't think very hard about the placement of the silver, and I was talking while I was doing it. I was quite surprised by how nice it was so here it is.

Full description

Disc shaped copper pendant with a piece of silver wire fused across it, simple and stylish with a high polish on the surface. The silver wire leaves ripples of silver along it's length as it melts and fuses to the copper, it reminded me of a comet or a shooting star so hence the name. The disc is slightly domed to catch the light and a patina is applied by lightly heating the piece after it was polished. Microcrystalline wax applied in a very thin coat preserves the surface.

The disc is 30cm across and hangs by a copper jump ring on an adjustable, natural leather thong. The adjustable thong can be worn at about 45cm, or as short as 20cm, by moving the sliding knots.
