This was made as an entry in a beading competition run by Miyuke beads. It didn't get very far but it was huge fun making it. I gave up after three months and my necklace became a bracelet. It wasn't working as planned as a necklace so a bracelet it became.

Full description
An exotic beaded cuff with four pieces of natural sea glass. Each piece of glass has been beaded around and backed with white leather. The edge of the mount then has beads woven around it. The cuff is created using needle weaving, a stitch called brick stitch. Each bead is attached seperately using needle and thread. Once it reached a certain length the sea glass was worked into the cuff and the beading continued around it. The original idea for this piece was to make a necklace, it took three months to get to bracelet length so I decided that's what it would be. I worked an extra piece onto one end to create the wave effect. There are 'pleats' in the beading to narrow it further and also to give a little more strength to the beading so the weight of the sea glass is better supported. The cuff is fastened with a silver shell button, made from silver clay in a mould from a real shell, and a button hole worked into the opposite end. Once finished beads are worked into the edge to hide the visible threads and give a sparkly sea like finish.
Very dramatic and different this cuff will certainly get you noticed.
I am glad to make to commission and have some very happy customers.
