Birds have an endless appeal, and appear in the art of many civilisations through the centuries: think of the avian motifs featured in Tutankhamen’s treasures. Perhaps it’s because they travel so easily between worlds; they swoop in – maybe from unknown, exotic lands – but then settle on a branch in our garden and become part of our lives for a while.
This panel is part of my Enchanted Forest collection. I’ve also created collections called Enchanted Ocean, Enchanted Christmas, and Enchanted Garden – you can see some of those other designs elsewhere on my shop page.

Full description
Two stylised birds nestle among foliage in soft moonlight.
Atmospheric batik fabrics in muted colours create a slightly dreamy feel for this scene of two lovebirds billing and cooing under a full moon. The design has a bit of a folk-art feel, and I’ve added to that by embellishing my birds with beads in soft colours.
Enchanted Forest was my first collection of Enchanted designs (I’ve since added Enchanted Ocean, Enchanted Christmas, and Enchanted Garden – you can see some of those other designs on my shop page). The panel is created in stained glass patchwork, with each patch of fabric set off by an outline of purple bias binding. A ferny red-purple print creates the leaf-shaped corner patches, and I’ve bound the quilt in a dark red.
A hidden casing at the top back of the quilt will hold your own batten/hanging pole.
The quilt will be sent to you cushioned with reusable bubble-wrap, and packed into a large recyclable jiffy bag. Hanging pole and fixings are not included.
