These fabulous anemones grew in my mum's garden so here I am again, mum with cup of tea in hand whilst I added to my collection of sketches. I need to add to my sketch library all the time. I like these, they are so much like poppies but a bit more grown up. They are so interesting from all angles and their droopy heads are very expressive. There is so much detail I needed to make a study of them. I tried transplanting some to my garden but failed in the attempt, unfortunately.

Full description
An original watercolour painting of pink anenomes in a botanical style on white background featuring 8 flower heads and 7 buds. The multi tones of pink and purple sing against the lemon/green centres and a botanical study has to have a plain white background so the specimens can really stand out. I created this painting at my Norfolk studio and wanted to include as much detail as possible. The painting is mounted, framed in lime-washed wood and ready for you to hang. The overall measurements are 57cm x 47cm and the internal image is 39cm x 38cm. I call this one 'Botanical Anenome' unsurprisingly. Would this painting work in your space?
