The inspiration for this piece was the 6 beads I bought a few years ago, I knew i wanted to combine them with the blue and white ceramic pieces I had collected from local beaches. Willow pattern seems to be the design that survives best in the sea and most of the pieces I have, although worn and smooth at the edges and missing their glaze, have kept a clear and sharp design in blue on white. It took me a while to come up with an idea. I made several smaller versions of these plaque style pieces with small pieces of sea glass, so I decided to make a larger one to balance the size of the lampwork beads. I've been using vintage lace for a while now and I felt it was appropriate for this piece.

Full description
A large very unusual necklace made with 5 pieces of blue and white beach ceramic mounted on a plaque and beaded around using a mix of modern and vintage beads. The plaque has a piece of vintage lace attached to the left side (as worn) the lace has beaded embellishments and is finished with a length of bead weaving which narrows to the fastening loop. The other side has a bead woven section to complete the necklace, the fastener is a mother of pearl leaf shape. Suspended below the plaque are 6 hand made lampwork beads I bought from a lady at a country fair in Cornwall. In between these beads are strands of tiny seed beads. A very dramatic piece of jewellery which could be ideal for a bride with her own style.
