In the autumn and throughout winter and into spring the migrating geese are a big feature of the where I live. I love to hear and see them, beautiful and elegant although sometimes quarrelsome!
I enjoy working with torn paper collage, I like the freedom and the slightly unpredictable nature of the process and I prefer the soft textured edges to cut edges.

Full description
The geese coming and going are a big feature of where I live and this torn paper collage was inspired by a particularly close encounter with a flying barnacle goose at nearby Caerlaverock Nature Reserve. I used different types of paper to capture the different colours and textures of the bird. All the pieces were torn by hand to help capture the wild nature and movement of the bird.
This original artwork is mounted in an acid free card mount, complete with backing board ready for framing. It measures around 41 x 51 cm and will be sent to you in a cellophane sleeve to protect it from dust and wrapped in bubble-wrap to protect from knocks and bumpbs.
