This pretty lavender bag is made from the corner of a vintage embroidered tray cloth. Its softly washed and faded embroidery threads are stitched into the tiniest cottage garden, complete with crinoline lady. It is filled with dried lavender from The Yorkshire Lavender Farm in Terrington North Yorks.
The lovely scent of lavender has been used to aid sleep, keep clothes smelling fresh, and annoy pesky moths since medieval times. Lovely to store in a drawer with a bridal gown, as a present for a bride, or as a little housewarming present.
The back is made from a fragment of embroidered white table linen, its pierced design allowing the gentle lavender scent to waft out.
This little bag measures 9 cm by 9 cm
Inside is nestling a tiny muslin pillow filled with English lavender from North Yorkshire.
There is a practical hook for popping onto a clothes hanger or hanging up in a bedroom, to keep the air sweet.
The bag is finished off with my own embroidered name tag.
Just squeeze gently from time to time to refresh your lavender scent.
I like to reuse as much as possible. Your little bag will be posted out to you wrapped in clean, recycled packaging.
It will be posted by Royal Mail 2nd class with proof of posting, which takes up to 3 working days.
What could be more English than a cottage garden and crinoline lady lavender bag. I loved the pale pastel colours when I found this little tray cloth, and altho the rest of it was threadbare, there was just enough fabric for this little bag.
The pretty table linens with their cut back embroidery are perfect for the back of lavender bags, as the scent escapes through the tiny holes in a perfumed haze. Pop in your drawer for sweet smelling clothes, or under your pillow for a refreshing nights sleep.
