I love to come across old tablecloths at car boots or jumble sales near York where I live.Their washed out colours, frayed edges and tea stains tell a family history. They always respond well to a bit of TLC and being remade into something useful once again. Who was the gifted embroiderer I can't help but wonder?

I felt that this lovely old embroidery with its sweet bunch of foxgloves, was just right to design into a pretty and practical little make up bag, purse or storage pouch. Old table linens are some of my favourite finds, with their faded colours and cottage garden flowers. It would make a great present for a lover of vintage fabrics, or perhaps a gardener with a passion for foxgloves! I have given it a little finger hook so it can be hung it up somewhere special and admired as a piece of craftwork in its own right.
The embroidery has been stitched onto cotton to strengthen it, but it is still soft, whilst the back is made from blue denim to give it some edge. It opens with a 16 cm bright purple zip, and is lined with a pastel vintage floral cotton. It is finished with my own embroidered name tag.
It measures 16 cm across and 15 cm down.

Recycling is a big part of what I do. Your bag will be posted out wrapped creatively in as much clean recycled packaging as I can muster.
It will be posted out with proof of postage as Royal Mail 2nd class, which takes up to 3 working days.
