Herons are always exciting to see, they are much larger than your average wild bird. We've been lucky enough to see them in our area, along river banks, in ponds, and once memorably swooping ahead of us along a country lane!

Full description
This hand embroidered picture features a heron standing stock-still among some reeds.
There's something quite majestic about a heron. Tall and elegant, they have a calm presence.
This picture has been hand stitched with strands of embroidery thread, the details built up with stitches of various lengths and colours. There's no machine in sight!
It is then framed behind glass for display and protection. The stitched piece is about 6.5 x 5cms and the whole item is 14.5 x 12 cms.
I photographed it in natural light but I'm sure you know that screens and monitors vary.
A lovely gift for a bird-watching nature lover!
