I was so pleased to have spotted these fabric plates in a charity shop. So humorous and unusual, I had never seen anything like them before, (and I’ve seen A LOT of vintage embroideries! ) It could simply be hung up somewhere special as a little piece of craftwork in its own right. There will be more in this range coming up in my shop soon.

What an unusual find. Four little dinner plates, but each one embroidered to resemble the classic blue and white Willow Pattern plates of old. This is the first one that I have worked with, and it is also my first circular bag!
It is clear that this embroidery has been well used; the stitching is a little pulled, and some blue colour has softly bled into the white. For all that, it still has charm, and hopefully now, a practical use as well. It would make a great occasions or going out bag, or as a gift for a textiles lover.
The bag is circular with an 18cm diameter (i.e. across the widest point)
The back, sides and strap, are all made from recycled blue denim, but the bag is soft.
The depth all around is 6cm.
There is an adjustable strap with a vintage brass slider. The maximum strap length is approx. 145cm.
There is a 20cm blue zip fastening, with a denim flower head pull.
The bag is lined with maroon silk, and has an internal pocket. It has my own embroidered name tag inside.
Please treat this bag with care. Dry cleaning is recommended.
I like to reuse where possible. Your bag will arrive wrapped in clean, recycled packaging. It will be posted out as signed for Royal Mail 2nd class, and hence will require a signature on arrival.
