Hello. You have caught my shop in holiday mode, but If you would like to catch me in a real bricks and mortar one, then head to no 36, Gillygate, York, where I am part of a Pop up space until June 24th. I am with 6 other artists from York, and thanks to Blank Canvas and York Conservation trust, we have the use of a beautiful shop for a few weeks. I will be restocking my Folksy shop again as soon as possible after June 24th. I hope you can visit again then.
This pair of extra large metal buttons, are covered in hand sewn vintage embroidery. Tiny fragments of homemade table linen, which have been rescued, and given a new life and purpose.
They are brilliant for sewing onto bags or accessories as a statement decorative feature. They would make a lovely present for a textile lover, or as an original piece of haberdashery.
There are two metal covered buttons made from metal in this pack.
Each is covered with a different section from old hand embroidered table linen. Different sections of flowers flit across the surfaces in a gently faded blue embroidery thread.
Each button measures 4cm in diameter.
They will arrive wrapped in clean, pretty, recycled wrapping, as I like to reuse where possible.
They will be posted out to you as Royal Mail 2nd class which takes up to 3 days.
My collection of vintage hand embroideries continues to grow larger than my studio, but often they are damaged, tea stained and threadbare. Even so, I can’t bear to throw them away. These florals have a soft washed out vintage feel to them. Turning them into covered buttons is my way of giving them a new life.
