I wanted to make a simple small ceramic earring that could be worn my women or men, I have also started to use terracotta clays recently and thought it would make a alternative to porcelain.

Blue studs with a dark terracotta base, they are a great colour that will match up with any outfit.
Size 8mm wide x 5mm deep
I have designed these ear studs to be small and to have a pop of colour, they can be worn as a pair or (like me) individually. I also wanted to use a terracotta clay, something you don't often see in jewellery.
These small terracotta ceramic ear studs are made from a sanded Etruscan clay, each one is individually cut out and shaped and then painted with slips. They are fired once then hand painted with a glaze, this final firing brings out the deep purple brown of the clay and bright jewel like colours of the glaze. Each pair has a rustic hand made finish. They have silver plated studs securely glued to the back.
