Vintage kitchenalia fabric purse, make up, or toiletries bag with zip opening
This lovely vintage fabric was probably designed with a kitchen in mind. It was destined for the “too good to use pile” for many a year, until I cut into it to make a friends birthday present.
Once the trauma had subsided, I went on to make a number of purses and bags from this fabric. It creates a wistful nostalgia.
Here is one of those little purses.
The fabric is stitched onto canvas to give it some body
It opens with a dusty blue zip fastening 22 cm wide
It is 15 cm tall
It measures 24 cm at its widest, tapering to 22 cm
A Tuck at each corner gives a 3 cm wide base
It is lined with blue cotton
There is a hook stitched into one corner so you can hang your bag up somewhere pretty, or twirl it around your finger
Finished with my own embroidered name tag
Please wash gently by hand, and leave to dry flat naturally
I like to re-use as much as possible. Your little bag will arrive wrapped in clean, re-cycled packaging
It will be posted out to you Royal Mail 2nd class with proof of posting, and will require a signature
Here’s a classic 1950’s or 60's fabric design. This would have been perfect for all things around the kitchen heartland. It has typical period charm with its mix of fruit meets molecular symbols!! It has been in my stash for far too long, time to make something practical with it.
