This necklace and earrings set is made from various complimentary shades of green beads. I had a bundle of beads that I was sorting through on my bead mat and these beads looked lovely together. I chose gold coloured findings as they looked better against the green and rather than bead all the way round, I chose to make the back of the necklace from a couple of lengths of chain. I forgot to take photos of this process as I got carried away and once I was happy with my design, I threaded everything onto the findings before my youngest child woke from a nap. The necklace measures around 51cm/20inches in length. The earrings have a 3.5cm/1.5 inch drop and are a shepherds crook style ear wire. All the beads are acylic so neither of the pieces are weighty, despite some of the beads used being quite large.
I had bought myself a bundle of beads and once I had sorted them out into same size and colour sections on my bead board, I started to group things that worked well together. The beads inspired the pieces rather than following a set pattern and as I only had a few of each item, the pieces I made can't be recreated as I probably won't get the same selection of beads again.
