I saw a pastel version in a book, but wanted to create something that was a little different from that, after all not everybody wants their child to have the same blanket as everybody else, especially if you are out and it gets dropped - then something unique is an absolute godsend. I liked the idea of a circular blanket, it's more interesting than a square or a rectangular one. It's also gender neutral so it could be for a boy or a girl.

Circular baby blanket, sometimes called a Burrito blanket as the idea is that it can be used to swaddle tiny babies. This blanket was created from the centre out, using treble cluster stitches until I reached the right size. This blanket measures just shy of 74cm across (29 inches in old money). It's in a colourful self patterning baby yarn - it's got red, orange, blue and green running through it. I finished it off with a navy blue yarn.
