I wanted to make a necklace using more than one piece of glass, The inspiration for the piece, as you might guess, are the rock pools on my local beach, often they are linked by tiny falls of water, as there are springs and rivulets all over the beach and water is in constant motion, even at very low tide. This is the first piece I made using more free form bead weaving, before this my work is mostly quite straightforward.
I was very excited when I discovered it was to be featured in a book. My first published piece other than little features in magazines.

Full description
Lovely necklace in shades of turquoise and green. Inspired by the rock pools found on my local beach, where the sea glass is found which created it. The necklace is made using three pieces of sea glass with a variety of vintage and modern beads. The glass is mounted in rows of beads stitched to hold it firmly and then each bead mounted piece of glass is joined to the others with short sections of bead weaving. The rest of the necklace is made with free form bead weaving, including vintage bi-cone crystals and other beads, finished with two strands of brick stitch, using Japanese beads for a lovely neat finish, and fastened with a beaded loop and a large handmade bead
This necklace is featured in the book, Showcase, 500 Beaded Jewellery, published by Lark Crafts in 2012
