Full description
Blanche is a handmade paper mache and textile doll; she is made from tin foil, florist wire, masking tape, paper, and some cotton wool for definition; her hair is yarn, and she is wearing a french linen dress, hand-dyed muslin headscarf and neckerchief (her neckerchief is secured with a silver spacer bead), and is holding her favourite blue teddy bear.
On the right of the coffin-shaped box is a tiny dolls house filled with dark and dingey paper furniture:
Bedroom: grotty double bed with duvet and pillows, bedside drawers with tiny candle and spacer bead gold vase; bedding box filled with rags
Lounge: bureau bookcase filled with books and objet d’art, sofa with cushions, standard lamp, coffee table, and a tiny black cat
Basement: coffin containing a wee ghostie, chests of drawers
Plus various brass jump ring images, rugs, and Poe quotes.
The coffin is made from scratch, and is finished as before; it is secured with hand painted calico hinges and ribbon tie.

My assemblage paper art pieces are hand made with patience and love - they often take weeks to complete, and are made for decoration only (they may have sharp edges and small components, so should be kept out of the reach of children).
