Welcome to Janiemade and my little corner of Folksy where you can buy my crocheted creations. If you're looking for skilfully handmade gifts and home decor I hope you'll find something you love. I enjoy crocheting with natural fibres, mainly cotton, and many of my home decor items use recycled braided cotton cord or recycled cotton T shirt yarn. All items are ready to post and I only charge postage on your first item. Your order will be sent by the Royal Mail Tracked 48 service.

I love making coasters to decorate my own home with and wanted some heart shaped ones. I couldn't find a pattern that worked with the thick T shirt yarn and braided cord that I use a lot so I had to design crochet patterns for both materials.
I have bought a few bobbins of this yarn whilst it is available as this colourway is so pretty and I can imagine using it for a range of items.

Full description
A crocheted coaster made from a high quality recycled T shirt yarn in a pale creamy white shade with a subtle floral design in pink and grey with flecks of green. I have included an option to buy a set of two at a discounted price.
T shirt yarns are made from textile offcuts and remnants from the fashion industry, saving them from landfill. This thick textile yarn can be used to create a range of household items that will last for years and each shade is only available in limited quantities.
This heart shaped chunky coaster has been crocheted with a large hook (and lots of muscle power!) and will protect surfaces from the hottest mug. It could also be used under a vase or plant pot to protect a painted windowsill or glass table. It would look lovely on a dressing table or bedside table, adding a feminine, girly touch of style.
The coasters have a pliable structure but will sit flat on a surface when they are in use. The crochet stitches provide added texture and interest.
Each coaster measures approximately 10cm in length at the longest point, and 11cm across its widest part. It is approximately 1cm thick.
A lovely present idea for a daughter, niece, friend or girlfriend or as a small new home gift that's both pretty and practical.
Care instructions: May be washed by hand at 30°C, do not wash with other items. Reshape whilst damp. Do not bleach; Do not tumble dry; Cool iron only.
