Bertie was painted as I’m always dreaming. I always did when I was little and I still do sometimes. Plus, I'm also always a little in awe of our beautiful moon.

Meet Bertie – a bear with a gentle soul, captured in a moment of stillness as he gazes at the moon and his own reflection in the water below. Thoughtful and calm, Bertie is the kind of bear who finds wonder in the night sky and comfort in his own company. There’s a peaceful magic in this illustration – a reminder to pause, reflect, and enjoy the beauty of the world around us.
Part of my much-loved “An (Animal) Called…” series, Bertie is one of six illustrated characters - each full of personality and brought to life with gentle watercolours and delicate ink details.
Printed on high quality 210gsm off-white Fine Art paper, ‘A Bear Called Bertie’ is printed using archival, colour-fast inks to ensure the colours keep vibrant and your print stays beautiful. The paper has a very slight texture to it which gives a lovely similarity to watercolour paper.
