Featuring the cheeky robin, this colourful mixed media painting would make a lovely gift for a bird lover.
'Robin and forsythia' is the third mixed media piece in my 'Birds & Blooms' collection. The artwork was created on a wooden panel which was primed with thick layers of gesso. Several layers of acrylic paint was added and then the surface was scraped and rubbed to allow small areas of the background colours to show through. I used inks and pastels to enhance colour and shading.
Texture was added to the background with a couple of torn strips of origami paper. I also created a few of the forsythia petals using small pieces of gelli plate prints and origami paper.
The outer frame of the picture measures 270mm sq and the painting is 150mm sq.
The artwork is titled and signed on the reverse.
The item will be sent Second Class, Royal Mail.
