I find fungi fascinating, and often look for them to photograph for drawings. I made this print, and its companion Velvet Shank 1, fairly early on when I took up printmaking again. They often grow on dead trees in our local park during the late autumn and winter, and I'm hoping to make some more prints based on them soon.

Full description
Based on my drawing of a crop of these fungi on a tree in our local park, this open edition linocut is hand printed by me with black Caligo Safewash relief ink on BFK Rives paper (subsequent prints will be on Japanese Ho-Sho paper once the original set have found new homes!). The paper size is 12.5x16cm, and the print area is 7.5x7.5cm.
