FREE UK POSTAGE
This miniature diorama picture features a little wooden cabin in the woods, with fairy lights strung from the branches above. It is inspired by my love of the wilderness, nature and folk art.
Influenced by my love of children's book illustration and also my time working on props and sets in the theatre, all my dioramas aim to create an alternative little world within a small contained space, something I was fascinated by as a child, and which continues to capture my imagination today.
The design comes from original drawings which have been transformed into pieces of laser cut and mount board. I paint all the pieces by hand and assemble them to form 3d layers and set them into a glazed, pale grey box frame. The frame measures approx 11.5cm; the scene itself measures approx 7.8cm x 7.8cm x 1.5cm.
Each diorama I make is completely unique.
