'Golden Fox' - this miniature diorama picture features a little golden fox roaming through a winter forest underneath a full moon; it is inspired by my love of animals, nature and specifically the foxes who live in the woods at the end of my road.
Influenced by my love of children's book illustration and also my time working on props and sets in the theatre, all my dioramas aim to create an alternative little world within a small contained space, something I was fascinated by as a child, and which continues to capture my imagination today.
The design comes from original drawings which have been transformed into pieces of laser cut plywood and mount board. I then paint all the pieces by hand, assemble them to form 3d layers and set them into a glazed, pale grey box frame, which measures approx. 11.5cm; the scene itself measures 7.7cm x 7.7cm x 1.5cm.
Each diorama I make is completely unique.
To show its details clearly, this item is pictured without its frame glass.
