Shell Pearl
Shell pearls are imitation pearls first conceptualised by the Venetians in the 13th century by using substitute materials such as alabaster. Today, modern shell pearls are high quality replicas of pearls and are made from Mother of Pearl ground down, shaped, dyed and surrounded by a protective lustrous coating. They are hard wearing, durable, resistant to oil, stains, sweat, and are an ecologically sound choice

This timeless and sophisticated pistachio shell pearl necklace and earrings set is a classic staple for any accessory wardrobe. The necklace is strung with 27 round pistachio 12mm beads alternately with 28 faceted rose gold plated 5mm spacer beads. The pearls with their amazing luster reflect the soft light from the rose gold faceted beads which glint in the sun. The elegant earrings are each made with one upper 5mm rose gold faceted bead and one lower 12mm round pistachio shell pearl bead which has a drop of 2.5cm from the earring base wire end loop which are each complete with clear ribbed silicone earring wire backstop. The necklace is easy to take on and off with the toggle heart clasp and bar but is safely secure when the bar is inserted into the heart. When wearing the necklace it has a substantial feel and the earrings hang and move nicely to complete the look of understated style.
