HANDSPUN CROCHETED CROSSBODY BAG
This small crossbody bag or purse was crocheted using my own handspun red merino wool and black acrylic yarn.
I added a loop and Dorset button closure. I made the button by weaving matching cotton thread around a brass ring. This is a technique which was used in Dorset in the late 1600's and 1700's - a cottage industry which is enjoying a revival, using modern materials and contemporary designs.
The purse measures 7.25" (18.5cm) x 5.75" (14.5cm).
I made a matching corded strap which is 46" (117 cm) long, which should be long enough to wear 'crossbody' on most people.
Crossbody bags can be carried safely 'handsfree'. This one is large enough for a mobile phone, glasses, coin purse etc.
Please be aware that different monitor screens can show colours differently.
