I live on Guernsey in the Channel Isles (UK) and I have always loved fibre and colour, so combining the two is my idea of heaven! Having knitted and crocheted since I was five years old, I added spinning to my crafts about twenty years ago. I love the feel of the fibres moving through my hands as I spin, creating unique yarns which I sometimes dye. I always use the best quality fibres such as merino, silk, alpaca, Bluefaced Leicester as well as the newer vegetable fibres such as Ramie (stinging nettle), rose, Tencel (cellulose made from wood pulp), bamboo and many more. I also now have a wonderful supplier of organic Falklands wool. It is certified organic because the sheep are not dipped and the fields are not sprayed as the Falklands are so far away from any land mass, the sheep are disease free and the fields pest-free.
I sell handspun yarns, either natural colours or hand - dyed or blended, as well as knitted and crocheted finished articles such as shawls, gloves, hats, scarves and bags. I also learned the art of Kumihimo braiding and Dorset button making and I sell items such as key rings and jewellery. When appropriate, I do use commercial yarn, but my favourite yarn is handspun.
I take commissions, either inspired by items in my shop, or complete one-offs. I love working with people to create something to their requirements.
I work from home either in my studio or, when weather permits, I love spinning outside.
