Hello and welcome to my shop.
I've always loved making things and worked as a Graphic Designer for over twenty years. Nowadays I experiment with fabric, paints, embroidery, beads and collage. I particularly enjoy combining different materials and patterns to create colourful, unique mixed media pieces.

Full description
This hand sewn fabric picture shows a pretty folk bird perching among some flowers.
I've used a thin layer of acrylic paint to give the background fabric and the embroidered trim a vintage feel. The colours used in the bird and the design of the flowers and leaves echo the patterns in the embroidered trim at the base.
The bird has been hand sewn using cotton fabrics and I've embellished the wing with embroidery threads and seed beads. I've used a lot of metallic threads throughout the artwork, which along with the sequins and gold seed beads gives a lovely bit of sparkle.
The picture comes in a good quality double mount. Outer measurements 9 x 7 inches. Visible area 6.5 x 4.5 inches.
The picture frame in the last two photos is not included in the sale and is for demonstration purposes only, showing that the double mount gives enough space to accommodate the seed beads so it doesn't need to be in a shadow box frame.
I've made a matching tag in case you're sending it as a gift.
