I was lucky enough to find the materials for these bottle openers before their respective owners disposed of them. The firing caps are made of brass and seemed such a waste to dispose of when they were in such good condition. Likewise the barrel wood was a good quality oak, and had spent time unknown harbouring and enriching one of mankind's favourite drinks. To be discarded after all that work seemed ungrateful! So the wood found another life, not entirely removed from its former role, and the addition of the brass cap embellishment has further enriched its wonderful grain.

Full description
Unusual bottle opener made from reclaimed whiskey barrels. The opener is made from aged oak barrels making each opener unique and full of character. The wood is shellac sealed and finished in carnauba wax. The bottle opener blade is made from stainless steel, and the end of the handle is finished in a cartridge cap making a bold statement and allowing the bottle opener the stand upright. Whiskey barrels are fired before use, leaving the wood with a unique scorch and grain pattern further adding to its character. Perfect for wedding/best man gifts, anniversaries, Fathers Day gifts, birthday gifts or just to say you care.
