All of the jewellery pieces in this Folksy shop are handmade by myself in a lovely, shed studio in my back garden.
The handmade jewellery I make is inspired by nature, the coastline of my home Island of Mersea, meaningful words and the joy of simplicity.
Handmade in recycled sterling silver, recycled gold, sterling silver, copper, 14ct gold filled, and occasionally brass. Semi-precious stones, precious stones and beads are also featured in my work.

I have been making hammered sterling silver ring stud earrings for many years... only realised recently that... maybe I should make a version in gold!

Full description
These ring stud earrings have been handmade in recycled 9ct yellow gold. Round profile 9ct gold wire has been cut to two lengths and formed into ring shapes, flattened a little and given a hammered texture. The hammered texture creates a shimmery dimpled effect. 9ct yellow gold earring pin posts have been soldered onto the back of the hammered circles.
The circle studs measure 1.2cm across.
The earring closure are 9ct yellow gold butterfly scrolls.
Hallmarked by Birmingham Assay Office, for its weight in solid 9ct gold. The small hallmarks have been positioned on the back of the studs just next to the earring post.
All the gold I use nowadays is all recycled gold, sometimes from a supplier that only sells recycled gold or I melt scraps or old jewellery myself to make into new gold jewellery. Recycled gold has the same properties as virgin mined gold, except that it is derived from old jewellery, technology ornaments etc. Virgin mined gold has devastating consequences for the environment and puts people and animals in harms way.
