Bookmark with moonlit meadows scene. This textile art bookmark is made from a mixture of different fabrics and has been free-motion and hand embroidered. The design features meadows under a full moon and starry night sky. The sky is made from a dark blue velvety fabric. The meadows are made from layers of different fabrics, which include a bright turquoise fabric with a textured pattern and slight sheen, a gold satin, and a dark turquoise upholstery fabric. To the foreground of the scene, I’ve added free-motion embroidered stems with hand embroidered French knot flowers in duck-egg blue. The moon is made from gold lamé, and is surrounded by gold holographic sequin stars. To one of the fields I've added some tiny hand embroidered sheep. The bookmark is backed with fabric with an abstract pattern of rectangular shapes in shades of blue, grey and silver. It is stiffened with an inner layer of interfacing, and edged with zig-zag stitching in navy blue thread.
This lovely moonlit meadows bookmark would make an ideal gift for anyone who loves reading and the countryside. It is also an inexpensive way of owning a piece of original textile art.
