In Hindu mythology, moonstone was thought to be solidified moonbeams.
Many ancient cultures associate the stone with moonlight - when light strikes moonstone, a phenomenon called 'adularescence' can be seen, which looks very like the moonlight shining through clouds.
In ancient Rome, Moonstone was linked to the Moon Goddess Diana and was thought to bring love, wealth and success.
In India, Moonstone is a traditional wedding gift, and is thought to bring luck in love.
It is a birthstone for June, alongside Pearl.
Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass.
Sometimes tiny gas bubbles, mineral crystals and rock debris are trapped within the lava as it cools, and these cause reflecting light to give a metallic sheen,
The colour of this sheen gives rise to 'gold-sheen', 'silver-sheen or 'rainbow' Obsidian.
Obsidian is thought to promote emotional balance and clarity of mind.

Full description
Silver Sheen Obsidian necklace, set with 5mm Moonstones highlighted with tiny, 2mm faceted Obsidian and sterling silver beads.
The Obsidian beads, graduating from 8mm to 6mm then 4mm, are black with flashes of metallic silver sheen, but the silver sheen causes them to look silvery-grey, depending on the light.
The creamy-white moonstone beads have a lovely, glossy sheen with glints of adularescence in the light, adding to the mystical appearance.
The overall effect is subtle and changeable.
The necklace fastens with a Tibetan silver rose toggle clasp.
A lovely 'gift for her', for a birthday or anniversary gift, a special thank you, or as a treat for yourself.
Moonstone is a birthstone for June and Gemini, alongside Pearl.
