Ever since the day this iconic tree was cut down I've been mulling over whether to recreate it in wool. It seemed that so many artists had the same thought. Now a few months have passed it seemed the right time to gather my ideas and create a picture to commemorate the tree's passing.

A view of the Sycamore tree on Hadrian's wall sadly cut down during 2023. A wonderful recreation of the beautiful tree all in wool,
A wool painting needle felted onto a piece of vintage blanket. Blended wool fibres in shades of blue for the sky, green multi toned wool fibre for the moorland.. The beautiful tree has a hand spun and dyed wool trunk and luscious wool curls for foliage. Wool curls add depth to the moorland and represent stones from Hadrian's wall.
The art work is available unframed or with the preused frame without glass shown in the photos. Framed it measures 38 x 31cm Unframed it measures approx 30 x 20cm.
