My quirky square dish with the addition of a button design
Approximate size: 13.5cm x 13.5cm x 4.5cm H
Handmade with a earthenware clay using the slab method. The detailed pattern is created by a square Indian carved stamp in the centre. Each corner has been shaped using a sculpting tools and little 'hand' buttons added by applying slip.
It has been bisque fired and then gently sanded before applying three coats of glaze. It has had second firing in the kiln to 1080C
Due to the handmade nature and natural materials each piece if unique with subtle variations in size, shape, and finish.
A self-adhesive cork has been applied to the base to protect surfaces.
