A vase such as this one will take anywhere between a total of 7-10 hours with all the various stages involved in the making. There is the preparation of the clay; rolling of the slab; creating the shape; incising, bisque firing; glazing; and second firing. As well as the costs of labour there are other overheads which include the obvious one of the clay itself, plus he glazes and the two kiln firings.
