From the wedging of the clays to the creation of the shape, the first firing, underglazing, glazing, preparation of glass and second firing a piece like this will take in excess of 12 hours of work.

Full description
A unique oval dish made from a thick slab of clay which ws then shaped and into which a large number of glass beads were then pressed. A light pink underglaze has been applied which has created a beautiful effect. The dish has been further enhanced by a burgundy glaze being applied to its base and the four feet. The surface also had a clear glaze applied before the second firing. Whikst the dish was originally designed for ornamental purposes, it could also be functional for a holder of trinkets, etc.
The dish has a max length of ca 263mm/10.25", a width of 210mm/8.25", and stands on four feet with and has an overall height of 59mm/2.25".
