PLEASE NOTE

I AM UPDATING PRODUCT BOXES FOR JEWELLERY AND DECORATIONS WHICH WILL TAKE AWHILE, IF YOU PURCHASE YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR ORDER IN THE NEW BOXES AS DESCRIBED BELOW.

Jewellery boxes are made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue. Jewellery box inserts are made from tall oil, a by-product of wood pulp industry. All paper, card, glue, inks and delivery boxes used are made from recycled materials.

I love collecting things discarded, lost, forgotten, damaged or just not wanted any more. My favourite places are rivers and beaches, but also find great things at recycling centres and charity shops. I’m lucky to live near the River Tees, Co Durham and often walk the banks picking up broken glass, pottery anything that can be cleaned and re-created into something new. Bits and bobs of lives all waiting to find new homes. Found by chance.

You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.

Additional terms

Hand crafted Jewellery and framed artworks using pre loved and discarded ceramics. Ceramic material will show signs of wear and damage. Entire process is a creative experience from discovery to final picture, nothing planned or preconceived. All materials personally collected from river banks, charity shops, roadside, woods, recycle centres, beaches, wherever dropped, dumped or donated ceramics are found, cleaned and shaped into new stories. Each piece comes with a short bio of where the ceramic came from, date found and re-created. Some shards collected are used as found, others are cut randomly which shape the final work. Every piece is individual, nothing replicated, however, due to repetitive patterns in ceramics there will be some similarity but only through the ceramic material not in the final piece.

Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.

Mudlark Granite Stone

Seaham Beach, Co Durham

August 2023

Re-Created

Pendant September 2023

Seaham in County Durham is famous for it’s Blast Beach. Covered in small pieces of glass, rolled by the waves over many years. These bits of glass, all sorts of colours come from the old Bottle Factory founded in 1853 and closed it’s doors in 1921.

During a trip to the blast beach I found some lovely stones, common to most beaches, attractive granite. I collected lots of tiny pieces of glass as well but the stones really stood out amongst the colours of the glass.

This pendant is made from a granite stone found as the waves pushed it onto the beach. Tactile, full of history. I drilled a hole and sealed with eco friendly, non toxic matt sealant.

The idea is to keep the character of mudlark finds, to pin point a time and place found by chance, to capture something unique. The finished pieces are not meant to be highly polished or perfect.

Pendant measures 30mm x 25mm x 6mm (widest parts).

Hanging on vegan cord 44cm plus 5cm extender.

Delivered in gift box, gift bag made from recycled materials and comes with short bio.
