I love collecting things discarded, lost, forgotten, damaged or just not wanted any more. My favourite places are rivers and beaches, but also find great things at recycling centres and charity shops. I’m lucky to live near the River Tees, Co Durham and often walk the banks picking up broken glass, pottery anything that can be cleaned and re-created into something new. Bits and bobs of lives all waiting to find new homes.

Additional terms
Hand crafted Jewellery and framed artworks using pre loved and discarded ceramics. Ceramic material will show signs of wear and damage. Entire process is a creative experience from discovery to final picture, nothing planned or preconceived. All materials personally collected from river banks, charity shops, roadside, woods, recycle centres, beaches, wherever dropped, dumped or donated ceramics are found, cleaned and shaped into new stories. Each piece comes with a short bio of where the ceramic came from, date found and re-created. Some shards collected are used as found, others are cut randomly which shape the final work. Every piece is individual, nothing replicated, however, due to repetitive patterns in ceramics there will be some similarity but only through the ceramic material not in the final piece.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.

Re-Created Earrings
September2023
I love collecting anything broken, lost or found by chance. A small patch of ground beside the River Tees gets boggy and drenched during heavy rains. The downpours expose all sorts of broken pot, glass, bits of pipes and wonderful oyster shells.
I found a quite chunky piece of ceramic, rim of a plate, stained, crackled glazed with a beautiful blue flower pattern. After a clean I was able to drill holes and shape into earrings. Front and back glaze in tact, the area around the hole is sanded and sealed with eco friendly matt sealant. Similar in size and shape, not exact, ceramic thicker by the hole and tapers to the rim.
The idea is to create something new from old, re-use ceramic found but keep its original character. The finished item is not meant to be perfect or highly polished.
Unique, full of history, found by chance in August 2023 and re-created into earrings. Similar in size and shape, thicker
Each earring measures approximately 27mm x 9mm (widest) x 4mm (widest).
Approximate full drop 45mm.
Sterling Silver 925 fish hooks.
Delivered in gift box and gift bag made with recycled materials and comes with short bio.
