PLEASE NOTE
I AM UPDATING PRODUCT BOXES FOR JEWELLERY AND DECORATIONS WHICH WILL TAKE AWHILE, IF YOU PURCHASE YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR ORDER IN THE NEW BOXES AS DESCRIBED BELOW.
Jewellery boxes are made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue. Jewellery box inserts are made from tall oil, a by-product of wood pulp industry. All paper, card, glue, inks and delivery boxes used are made from recycled materials.
The idea is to create something new from old, found by chance, full of history and character. To present and deliver unique Eco Friendly gifts in Sustainable Packaging.
I love collecting ceramic discarded, lost, forgotten, damaged or just not wanted any more. Favourite places are rivers and beaches, but also find great things at recycling centres and charity shops. I’m lucky to live near the River Tees, Co Durham and often walk the banks picking up broken glass, pottery anything that can be cleaned and re-worked and crafted into something new. Bits and bobs found by chance waiting to find new homes.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Additional terms
All materials personally collected from river banks, charity shops, recycle centres, beaches, wherever dropped, dumped or donated ceramics are found, cleaned and shaped into new stories. Each item comes with a short bio of where the ceramic came from, date found and re-created. Some shards collected are used as found, others are cut randomly which shape the final work. Every piece is individual, nothing replicated, however, due to repetitive patterns in ceramics there will be some similarity but only through the ceramic material not in the final piece.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.

Pendant
September 2024
In September 2024 walking Thorsgill Beck which runs into the River Tees, Barnard Castle, Co Durham I came across chunky piece of ceramic. After a thorough clean I could see lovely green flowers and thought it would make a pretty pendant.
I never know if the ceramic is strong enough to work with and it’s always a risk drilling a hole. Thankfully the shard survived. I don’t start out with an idea of how the finished piece will look instead allow the shape to form naturally.
The ceramic is old and still slightly discoloured from previous life and journey in the beck. Although worn and crackled, the front glaze is still visible, sides and back sanded and sealed with matte non toxic eco friendly sealant.
The idea is to create something new from old, the finished piece isn't meant to be perfect or highly polished. Instead, retain marks, stains and scratches, part of the original shard.
Unique, one of a kind pendant full of history.
Pendant measures approximately 23mm x 15mm x 3mm
Hanging on 46cm 925 sterling silver snake chain.
Delivered in gift box made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue. Presented on Jewellery box insert made from tall oil, a by-product of paper production. Sustainable gifts, complete with short bio and gift bag.
