Following the success of smocked post card making workshops, I have developed this kit to allow more enthusiasts to have a go at smocking themselves.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
This is a comprehensive kit designed as an introduction to smocking and suitable for complete beginners. It would appeal to all textile enthusiasts and is a small, easily completed project.
The finished postcard measures 6 x 4 " and can be written and posted if desired!
The kit contains:
a piece of silver grey coloured fabric for the postcard background,
some pre-gathered raspberry coloured fabric for smocking,
pre-cut stiffening,
a calico backing stitched as a postcard,
a selection of suitable embroidery threads,
a crewel needle,
pale pink accent fabrics,
coordinating beads,
2 sheets of clear instructions, including images of examples.
You will need a basic sewing kit to complete the postcard and a sewing machine is desirable, but not essential. If desired you may also like to incorporate some of your own threads, fabric or trimmings.
