Full description
Homage to Rothko is a small, one of a kind, unframed tapestry weaving, handwoven with a mixture of wools and cotton yarns. I have used an orange cotton warp, and the weft is various shades of yellow, ochre, orange, purple, burgundy and blue. I combined bundles of yarns in the different hues to make subtle colour changes and although this is a small weaving, it took many hours to weave because of the number of colour changes. It is stitched onto a piece of linen mix fabric which measures approx 21 x 21cm and is ready for framing in a standard frame, readily available online.
It will be well wrapped in tissue and card and posted with Royal Mail. Where possible I reuse packaging to reduce cost to the customer and to the environment.
