This piece is inspired by a photograph by Tom Murphy from the book Planet Earth by Alastair Fothergill. It shows “ a full moon rising over boreal forest in the northern hemisphere”. I was drawn to the contrasting tones and subtle colours and marks, which lent themselves to the techniques of tapestry weaving.

Full description

Forest Moon is a one of a kind tapestry weaving which has been handwoven with a mixture of wools and silk, in various shades of green, blue and , yellow. It features some embroidered stitches to accentuate the vertical marks. It is stitched onto a piece of linen mix fabric and framed in a simple black wooden box frame with no glass, which measures 19 x19 x 3cm.

It will be well wrapped in tissue and bubble wrap and posted with Royal Mail. Where possible I reuse packaging to reduce cost to the customer and to the environment.
