This piece is inspired by a photograph by Tom Murphy from the book Planet Earth by Alastair Fothergill. It shows “ a full moon rising over boreal forest in the northern hemisphere”. I was drawn to the contrasting tones and subtle colours and marks, which lent themselves to the techniques of tapestry weaving.
