Full description

This statement necklace showcases sparkly fordite harvested from the Jeep factory which has been smoothly bezel set in sterling silver. The fordite has V shaped bands of colour mostly sparkly grey, black and white but then pops of sparkly pink, red, blue and bright green. The fordite measures approx 46mm across and 34mm deep, it is mounted within a snakechain to give a length of 18 3/4inches (approx 47cm) but it will sit like it is slightly shorter than that. It would make a great gift for anyone who loves their cars or anything a bit unusual.

Not come across fordite before? It's layers of over spray paint that builds up in spray booths at car factories, the build up gets baked in the curing ovens in between each layer of paint giving a hard material that can be cut to show the many different colours in it. This particular material came from Jeep's factory in Toledo in 2021 (the sparkly pink and bright green were limited edition colours only produced that year) and I cut and polish the material myself. I have quite a stash of fordite from different factories so if you love the idea of fordite but want something else then drop me a message as I can probably help.

The setting for the fordite is open backed so you can see the zigzag pattern in black, red and bright green on the back, it could be worn to show that side but it will sit better with the grey side showing.
